It was fun but until primers are available again I’ll just shoot USPSA.
Reasons why IDPA isn't fun to me:
  • A confusing, ill written rulebook
  • Rule interpretations by area coordinators instead of a single source (DNROI) like USPSA
  • Telling people how they must shoot a stage
  • A ridiculously bad safety officer training program, SOs and MDs in my area are notorious for not knowing the rules and/or not enforcing them evenly
  • 10 rounds in a magazine for CO and ESP
  • Fault lines made of crap that you can't feel with your feet
  • Letting clubs decide if AIWB is "safe" or not

I just finished my first full season of USPSA matches. I shot a Sig Sauer P365 in the Production division. At the beginning of the season the gun was waiting for me but by the end of the season I was waiting for the gun. I just ordered a CZ Accushadow 2. I won't be waiting for the gun anymore. :D
Will you remain in Production? I started there in '19 but after that year went all in to Carry Optics for two reasons:
  • I much prefer shooting target-focused and it's much easier to do with a with a reflex sight
  • I am competitive by nature and most people in my local USPSA scene were leaving Production for Carry Optics
These days Production is virtually dead in my area. Yesterday's match had 56 competitors:
  1. 41 in CO
  2. 8 in Limited
  3. 3 in Open
  4. 3 in PCC
  5. 1 in Production
