A recent purchase. 455 American combo in 22LR and 17HMR. Shimmed the trigger to a 2 lb pull. Added heavy duty assembly screws. Refinished the stock with Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 and then liberously coated the stock with Howards Feed and Wax inside and out. BSA Sweet scope with Burris Signature Zee rings. Scope is getting moved down the line in favor of a Redfield soon when I swap the included barrel to a 17HMR.

One of my favorite shooters. Really nice short bolt throw that is smooth. All the mechanical's in the CZ stuff is top notch. It's a investment for years to come. CZ sets you up nice when you get the combo package. Extra clips, adapters, clear instructions for the swap.

good to know about the combo. I was wondering if the 455 is comparable to a 452.
(I skimmed this off of the CZ website RX.)
The 455 model will eventually consolidate all of the receivers currently used in the 452 line into one common platform. This combined with the new interchangeable barrel system of the CZ 455 will allow the user to easily change the stock configuration as well as the caliber of their rifle. The 455 retains the accuracy and quality of the adjustable trigger, hammer forged barrel and billet machined receiver from the CZ 452. Improvements that the 455 brings include new manufacturing technology and tighter tolerances for improved accuracy and smoother operation. The American model is the first to see the benefits of the change from 452 to 455. Other configurations will be making the conversion soon.

so it can be swapped from one caliber to another? interesting. how is the barrel held in place and how hard is the swap?
Not difficult at all. When I do a full inspection and cleaning, I pull the barrel. Probably had the 22LR barrel off of there a couple times.

I own a CZ 455 American in 22 LR with the 22 WMR and 17 HMR barrels. Picked it up for $569.00 at the Fort Bliss PX, (yeah, they don't price their products very well). I mounted a Simmions Presidential Scope on it in 4x12. Very, very nice and accurate. I usually leave the 17 HMR, it's just so much fun.

Made the swap and have been shooting the 17HMR barrel lately and have to say it is a kick and very accurate as well. No Redfield scope yet. Headed out this sunday to do a bit of target practice and to see the sights up high before the snow flies.

22LR ammo pile was getting lite,,so the swap was made to work the 17hmr ammo pile down,,lol.

Thank god the prices have eased off slightly on ammo,,and the availability is slowly creeping back.(around here). Local shop had CCI maxi mags 22lr for $6.50 a box (no limit), which is below the pre-scare prices.

I wish I could have found a combo, I'll have to settle for getting barrels down the road.

I put a CenterPoint on my .17 HMR American, as it was available, later I put a Sweet .17 on it. But when I sighted in the thing at 25, it was ridiculously accurate.

The safety is a very positive, very neat unit.

I shot 5 out into the backstop to get the trigger feel. Then 5 more to zero....this is them, left to right, clockwise.

I love mine. 455. I'd like to buy a 452 but there not making them anymore. They still are selling there left hand version I'm assuming cause they had a bunch of left over inventory. I wish the 455 had that high polish blueing. I guess the satin or Matt finish is better strategically, ie doesn't reflect light and helps with glair on your site picture. But the 452 looked a little more classic. I guess buying a gun for looks is a no no. Just kidding. I just wish they would offer it. I guess you could always do it yourself, what ever you wanted, ie nice blueing. Threw a local gunsmith. But then what would we have to talk about on her ;-)
