Is there a way by looking at pictures of a steel frame vs aluminum frame to see the difference? What are the tells? Can you tell me which one this pistol has?

Thanks for the reply. The pictured pistol has the Cajun Pro package. I have not handled it in person and the current owner hasn’t responded yet. I’m not sure if those are part of the package?

There has never been a steel-framed P-01 Omega. They are all aluminum framed.

You can't tell by looking but a magnet will prove what it is not.

The P-01 Omega has never been made with a steel frame. No need to look for anything to tell it apart.

That is what I had thought too, but there are many people saying there are steel ones.

There were a very few P-01s made with steel frames, but none (to the best of my knowledge) with the Omega trigger.

Yes that was my belief too. Thank you

Since I don't have a steel P-01, I can only give comparisons with the aluminum P-01 and the stell SP-01.
The steel frame is narrower than the aluminum frame. (I measured it.)
The slide-lock;s end on the right side on the aluminum P-01 does not protrude as far as the slide-lock's end on the steel SP-01. (For me, this makes removing the slide-lock from the aluminum much more difficult, YMMV.)
While that looks like an aluminum P-01 to me, I can't be sure without seeing the right side of the picture. Is there any reason that you were only given a picture of the left side of the pistol?

The steel frame P-01 was manufactured with a safety lever and not a de-cocking lever. I own both and by looking at them, I cannot tell a difference in the frame dimensions. I have not measured both frames however. Hope this helps my friend. Good luck and good shooting.

The steel frame width is less than the aluminum framed P-01.
Two ways to tell: (1) how far the slide-stop/release pin extends on the right side and (2) measure it with a micrometer.
There may be other ways, such as the Omegas.

Short of bringing a magnet, I believe that is the best tell.
