I think George Carlin said it best...

Amen.

Stupid California, forcing car makers to sell electric cars...where do they think the electricity comes from, sweet fairy farts in some plant in the bay area?
Okay, let me have an opposing point of view. I like earth day. I like nature and I like the biodiversity of our planet. I have bird feeders all over my place because I like to see the birds and hear their pleasant chirping. I like to know the rainforests are there and the crazy weird animals living there are actually still there. I like our wilderness areas and the naturalness of those areas.

Are any of you hunters? Ruin the ecology of earth and you'll have nothing left to hunt. Will I plant a tree today? Probably not but if I knew of any event like that happening, I would definitely take part.

Liberals aren't the only ones who 'hug trees'. Think about it, guys. If we recklessly overuse and deplete the resources of this planet, what are we going to be left with? Where will we hunt? What clean water would we have to drink? How would we grow crops if we didn't properly manage the soil?

I truly don't see anything wrong or "liberal" in trying to keep this overpopulated planet going for as long as we can.

Can someone please explain to me why comments like the above are considered appropriate?

Why does everyone think that "non-liberals" all want to rape and pillage the planet?

I just find it irritating as heck that the guys living in big cities and the coasts think that they can move their pollution out to MY power generating plant, and that will somehow magically make the world a better place.

We aren't Anti Save the Earth. We are anti "Save YOUR part of the Earth by screwing up MY part of the Earth" which is what nearly ALL of those self righteous groups seem to be trying to do.

And BTW, the world is NOT overpopulated, we have LOTS of room, and LOTS of food. We just have distribution problems, the people and the food aren't always in the best relationships. We in America throw away more food than they eat in some countries.

We PAY farmers NOT to grow as much as they could, and then we pay even more to take food out of production so they can grow stuff to make ethanol, yet another "feel good" solution, that actually produces MORE pollution in the making, than it reduces in use. But since this extra new pollution is NOT in the city where they burn the ethanol, they claim they are making things better. BULL CRAP!.

Many good and true points there.
Not trying to stir the pot here, but global warming, green energy and Earth Day are all scams perpetrated by socialists and collectivists.

Some of the original earth day activists are now working for the present administration. I concur, it's all about control and power, not about saving the earth. As a kid in the boy scouts, I learned to understand and appreciate sound nature conservation practices. That understanding has led me to live responsibly, avoiding reckless excess and wanton destructive practices. Nothing wrong with being a smart, efficient good steward with natural resources. Just don't go all Bloomburg Obama on me and presume to know what's best for me. Environmental tyranny is just another example of plain old tyranny.
