I didn't get into shooting until much later in life. I was afraid of guns most of my life. My Father had a rifle and a pistol but they were hidden and never really talked about. He was not a hunter or really a shooter.
I formed a friendship with a man who lived in California. When I went out to visit him, he gave me a safety course then took me to the range. He put an Uzi rifle in my hands and let me go. We were at an outdoor range and were shooting at metal targets. The "ding" of my rounds on the targets were so satisfying. I wasn't too bad at shooting and that's all it took to get me addicted. About 4 months later I bought my first gun, a GP 100 revolver. I no longer am friends with that guy as the distance was too far. But I joined a gun forum and learned all I could and I'm still learning.
Let's hear your stories.
