Our own administrator's (glock26USMC) police dog "Tyson" has fallen ill, and is now at the veterinarian hospital in critical condition. Please say a prayer for one of our own 4 legged heroes!

Doctor just called, ultrasound shows a lot of fluid, and looks like his intestines are inflamed, which makes them think there is a obstruction, surgery is needed to see, due to all the fluid, if there isn't an obstruction then they would have to investigate to see if something is wrong with his intestines.

I have a feeling, his duty days are over

Surgeon performed surgery last night, removed a mass of hair from his stomach, which was blocking his intestines. the mass was removed and everything else looks good...... he is in stable condition, and in ICU.

he has to start eating and drinking before he can come home, and as of late last night, he was not doing either. i am calling at 0900 to checkup on him

I hope his duty days aren't over but if they are, he'll still be at your side at home.

He'll start eating and drinking soon. Give him time to heal a little. He'll rebound, you'll see. I'm rooting for him.

That's a bummer. Hope the antibiodics work.

We had to take one of our little ankle biters in a couple of weeks ago cause she was constipated. They did X-rays anyway cause she has had trouble walking and standing up. We already knew she had a back injury once. Now she has scoliosis and some of her vertabrae are fused. Constipated too. Vet precribed doggie pain killers and glucosamine. Laxative too with a diet of canned food instead of dry. Seems to be helping, but she is old. Last time she had to have a hysterectomy cause she had cancer. At least that had not come back.
