Was watching a mocumentary on some communist new network, either CNN or MSNBC on "The American Gun Culture", and while the reported did concede that the people who go through the training and background check are less likely to commit a crime, he seemed to be alarms that more and more people are obtaining weapons.

They totally ripped into the M-16/AR-15 platform, but out of 5 or 6,000 gun crimes committed in 2011, 1/5th of 1% were committed with an AR. One of the statistics they mentioned was that you were more likely to get hit with a baseball bat (or something to that effect) then shot by a .223.

Well, you have to give them credit for mentioning the legal carry people are not dangerous. It's the CRIMINALS with guns that are dangerous.

I don't know why the AR gets such a bad rap. Most shootings in Chicago are committed with hand guns.

That's one of my biggest beef's with the anti-2a crowd. Almost everybody who goes through the process of getting a weapon LEGALLY will never use it illegally. And when you look at the concealed handgun license crowd, those statistics go down even lower. Yet the Press rallies around the delusion that every firearm must be taken away from citizens so society can be safe.

One of the guys pro 2a guys that was on the documentary was the dood from Tennessee, who runs a tactical training camp. He has lots of videos on youtube and was one who got on the ATF's radar when he said he was going to load up and go to war if "Obama's executive orders" held up, banning certain types of weapons. One thing he said did resonate with me, which was every citizen should be able to have small arms every bit as good as the military's and when I say small arms, I mean .50 cal and less (or whatever the largest round is currently available). Maybe not necessarily full auto, but at least semiautomatic. At least there would be some mutual respect between the political ruling class and the citizens of this nation.
