I mean come on, most people who take time and apply for a permit are not criminals, and it a constatutional right to bear arms.
here in Arkansas we have to take a class, which means locating an instructor hear they charge anywhere from 50-100 bucks, then another 150 for the permit! They give complete IMBACILS a friggin drivers license for 25.00 no class required, just test and drive with an instructor.
Why not do that on CC permits test, make us qualify with our gun and charge 25-50 for the permit and run the background check.
I mean logicly you can kill a whole bunch more people with a car than a pistol that holds 6-15 rounds. Where does the Constatution say You have the right to bear arms if you give us a chunk of money to run your name in a computer that instantly tells us every crime you ever commited or looney bin you were in. The government got their wires crossed.

Oh and in Arkansas we have to have a permit to have a loaded gun in the car, otherwise it has to be unloaded, no bullets anywhere near it and in a gun box.... I mean that is pointless, what do we do say "Hey bad guy wait 10 minutes for me to open this box, get my bullets and load this mag so I can have a sporting chance".. Be real Arkansas, give us open carry or atleast glovebox carry in our cars! We pay property tax on our car just as we do land and houses so you notice a car is property but no loaded guns allowed?? For Real! Depend on a cop making it to you before your killed?? Average response time is what 10 minutes minimum, a man could strip, rape, and strangle a woman in less time. (Not bashin the Police, some of my best friends are cops), but your only human and can't teleport to crimes in progress.

we need to go back to the 1800s WildWest style. Almost everyone had a gun, strapped that puppy to a belt, rifle on the saddle and the only criminals were the "quick draw" bad guys who's sprees were really short when you think about it. Someone else was faster or waitin for em.
All these "yuppy" city folk that are anti gun because someone they know got shot and had no gun think gun control will keep them safe. Truth is Criminals can always get guns, they will find a way, always do. And the police are spread too thin to be everywhere.
When you look at reality, big banks have an armed security guard, most really big corperations have armed security guards, ALL politions have at least 1 armed body guard, but they wanna tell us we don't need guns, rely on the police. I live 10 miles in the country, my road is not mauntained properly, a cop might can do 45 and keep control of his squad car.... How long you think response time would be if I had to call them..

I wanna get mine, just got to save up nearly 300 bucks to do it. Then I'm gettin a Ruger LCP or KelTec 380 and keepin it in my pocket just cause it will be legal. Only thing I might shoot will be cyotees and varmits, but let the lawmen pull up in their yard to a pack of cyotees, a **** on the steps, or the occasional BlackBear and bet they shoot too.

Utah runs about $120, split between the class run by private licensees, and state office that handles the application.

We had full constitutional carry passed by the legislature, but the freaking governor vetoed it. Had the votes to pass it anyway, but they bowed to the party line, and dropped it. Cowards.

I would suggest that you carry something else if that is what you plan on shooting.

Some of the small pistols in the category you mentioned are difficult to shoot accurately for more than 7 yards. And I have not seen a coyote come within 21 feet.

Even though I do agree the permit is rather expensive and, as NY demonstrated, allows certain groups to use the permit member list to bully people, in the great scheme of things it is cheap. And, if you want to win the game, you need to play it to win.

shot one last year with a 22 darringer (all I had at the time) 2 were right at my front steps when I walked out killed one other ran off. They come in close when you way out in the sticks. Think they get after the cats we have for mouse control. Plus you don't have to hit em, gun shot scares em off.

Here in Wisconsin, I took a free class through a non-profit organization called Wisconsin Carry.
After you have certification(hunter safety counts), you need to mail a copy of your certificate, your completed application, and a check for $40(used to be $50) to the Department of Justice. $30 for service fees and $10 for the background check. In a couple weeks they either send you a letter explaining why you were declined, or they send you your concealed carry permit. Hopefully the latter.
Im waiting on my CCL in the mail now.

It's turned into a cash grab for the NRA, local LEO's and fed government. Here in Ohio, I had to spend a hundred bucks for a CCW class, 25 bucks for the application fee (for 3 years) and 68 bucks for a background check. Good thing is that renewals are only 25 bucks or so and they're good for 3 years.

While the CCW class was good and since my class consisted one other student and the instructor, we were able to cover all of the required material, and range time, as well as breeze over stuff better suited for a defensive tactics class, within the required 12 hours.

Also, I could almost agree with the 1800's level of weapons freedom, but there's just too many wild cards, like the mentally ill, teenagers, people who snap or people who are so stupid that they should NOT be allowed to procreate.
