Here in Wisconsin, I took a free class through a non-profit organization called Wisconsin Carry.
After you have certification(hunter safety counts), you need to mail a copy of your certificate, your completed application, and a check for $40(used to be $50) to the Department of Justice. $30 for service fees and $10 for the background check. In a couple weeks they either send you a letter explaining why you were declined, or they send you your concealed carry permit. Hopefully the latter.
Im waiting on my CCL in the mail now.
