As I’ve continued my research, I’ve been diving deep into the Masterpiece Arms DS9 series. The combination of a tool-steel frame, aggressive grip texture, and their reputation for out-of-the-box accuracy has me very intrigued. For those who have experience with MPA pistols, how do they handle during rapid strings of fire compared to a tuned Staccato? Also, any insights on magazine compatibility and holster options for the DS9 would be fantastic.

 

Pistol choice will all depend on what division of USPSA you want to shoot.... Carry Optics, Limited Optics, Limited, etc.... For Carry Optics, most choose CZ Shadow 2s since they can be customized to the individual shooter and their are alot of aftermarket parts availble.

 

I’m a casual USPSA shooter and I see a lot of CZ Shadow 2’s at the competitions and I’d say they dominate where just popularity is concerned. I also see various Staccatos and the occasional Springfield 2011. My son who also competes, and more seriously so, shoots an Atlas Athena. I seem to recall someone saying they favor the DS9 but I’m not sure.
