those 3rd gen S&W's are becoming quite desirable, awesome shooters, nice pick up. Consider grabbing a 5946 DAO while you can.

I think I saw those for sale on Aim Surplus. Right now I am trying to track down a frame for a 6904. I found a complete slide on eBay and would like to do this:

But in reverse. There is a gun parts supply place in my town that carries what I need, almost all of the 3rd Gen Smith pistols. No frames though, so I'm trying to track one done in aluminum white(?).

I just did. No sunshine. I am hoping that I can get it done through Century Arms. Only problem here is that they only send out price lists to FFL holders. So they are either not wanting to get swamped on broken gun sales(?) or possibly the site is a fake than only wants my money.... If all else fails I will stalk GunBroker.
